MEETING LOCATION

The seminar on Thursday the 4th of April will be held in a Grand Amphitheatre of the CPE school in Villeurbanne on the Campus Lyon-Tech La Doua, 3 Rue Victor Grignard, 69100 Villeurbanne (Google maps link)

Friday the 5th of April, a visit of SAFE Metal steel foundry in Feurs (42) will be organized. Departure at 7:15 am from Gare Part-Dieu (https://maps.app.goo.gl/maD1o2zxxpJ2ZPLQ7).

 

 

DINNERS LOCATION

On Wednesday the 3th of April, a cocktail is organized at VATEL restaurant. This is a buffet dinner, you are welcome from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Restaurant will close at 11:00 pm. The price will be 49€ per person. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/MspXMWz6kzyGqnS18)

TRAVEL TO LYON

Thanks to its location Lyon is perfectly connected with big cities in France, Europe, and worldwide.

By plane:

Lyon Airport is served by major European airlines and has frequent direct flights from and to major European hubs such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, as well as Paris (at least 5 flights a day) and  several direct flights to other cities. Lyon Airport  Only 25 km from the city centre, Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS) is served by public transport, and benefits from a solid road and motorway network, especially thanks to the A432. One can easily get from Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport to the conference venue by a shuttle train (30 min to reach the city centre) and public bus lines (TCL).

 

By road:

Many people arrive to Lyon and leave it by car or coach thanks to the city’s abundant road connections. Lyon lies at one of key European crossroads, on route from the South to the North. The best way to plan your route is to use a map. Be careful, park your car on the campus is difficult and access to parking is restricted.

 

By train or by coach:

Lyon main railway station Lyon Part-Dieu is situated most conveniently in the very city center. Every day express TGV trains arrive from Paris (2h), Bruxelles, Geneve but also from many other european cities through a connection in Paris. If you arrive to Paris first then you may take a TGV from Charles de Gaulle airport or from Pairs Gare de Lyon to Lyon where the nearly 300-km trip takes just 2h. To plan your travel, you can use the SNCF-connect website. Lyon main bus station is located next to the second railway station (Perrache). There are many regular coach lines between Lyon and Western Europe as well as Central Europe with Flixbus running a large network. If you arrive to Lyon by train/coach the most comfortable way to get to the conference venue is to use the public transport network (TCL) and especially tram T1 direction IUT-Feyssine and tram T4 direction Gaston Berger.

 

Public Transport in Lyon

Getting around in Lyon is pretty easy. There is 3 subways in Lyon, 6 tramway lines and many buses. Lyon has a fairly dense public transport system. Tickets can be purchased from ticket vending machines located at major stops and in almost all the busses and trams by using SMS applcation or directly your credit card.

ACCOMODATION

Recommended hotels nearby the campus is Ibis Style Lyon Villeurbanne Parc de la Tête d'Or. You can also find a lot of hotels on the website of the tourism office of Lyon. Note that the campus is located at about 30 min for the city center using the public transport network.
